Our Mission

Maiden America markets unique, heirloom quality products, all of which are hand made, in America. Our products support local economy and a tradition of wholesome values, including hard work, creative ingenuity and quality handcraft. Some of the benefits our clients receive as a result of products made locally, in America, include greater quality control and excellent customer service. NOTE: NEEDS TO BE MORE OF A MISSION STATEMENT

Our Story

When her three daughters were very young, Aliza Wiseman became concerned about the growing trend of age-inappropriate fashions being marketed to little girls. In hopes of making a difference, she established Maiden America.

“My original goal was to encourage parents (not marketers) to define childhood by exercising their pocket books. Childhood is a sacred time yet, these days, many children are being raised via electronic babysitters, peer pressure, “the system” and a culture that feeds on ego, at the utter expense of soul. Upon reading Juliet Schor’s well-researched book, ‘Born To Buy,’ I came to understand that I was not alone in my concern about market trends and that parents like me held the power to challenge this industry push.”

Maiden America has undergone changes since its inception but our mission and values remain the same. In time, we hope to feature even more heirloom quality products that are in keeping with our goals.

Since 1995???

It would be nice to have something about how long you’ve been doing this…

About Aliza

Something here about your background??? We can lose the pictures or use that area for something else???

“I give Maiden America props for being mom created, beautiful, and solving a common little girl hair issue like that I’ve heard so many times, “I lost my barrettes at school because they fell out at recess.”

Stuff like that happens, but with Maiden America,
it no longer has to.”
